Partnering with Noah’s Arc Foundation, founded by Joakim Noah, former Chicago Bulls star, and his mother Cecilia Rodhe, Transform Justice has played a significant role in bringing together 30+ violence prevention groups in developing The One City Basketball League. To promote violence prevention among youths, these community-oriented partnerships have fostered a unifying space for young Chicagoans to play basketball with one another, promoting inter-community relationships.

Cure Violence Global helps communities to implement violence prevention programs that are effective in significantly reducing violence. Launched in West Garfield Park, one of the most violent communities in Chicago, and was quick to produce results, reducing shootings by 67% in its first year. Several Cure Violence program sites have been externally evaluated, demonstrating strong results in multiple sites.  In June 2009, U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder, Jr. referenced Cure Violence™ as  a “rational, data-driven, evidence-based, and smart approach to crime.”

Help the Transform Justice Mission

Violence is a public health issue and must be treated as such. While it affects all individuals worldwide, it is important to note that it can be stopped through furthering education and opportunities, starting with our youth. Through incentivized programs, in addition to One City, our involvement with Chicago’s South and West Sides communities will help the youth prosper, further understand the importance of violence prevention, and become engaged in fostering peaceful communities for future generations.
